Veritas veteran exits fund role to focus on strategy

Veritas veteran exits fund role to focus on strategy

Charles Richardson (pictured) is set to step back from day-to-day fund management amid wider longer-term strategic plans announced by Veritas Asset Management.

The veteran global equity manager will relinquish his role at the start of 2020 to focus on his position as executive chair.

His co-manager, Andy Headley, remains as head of global equities and will continue to oversee the Global Focus and Global Real Return strategies.

In addition, Ian Clark, who was hired from BNY Mellon earlier this year, will transition into becoming lead manager on the Global Income fund. Headley will serve as an alternate manager on this approach.

Veritas AM also plans to expand its investment proposition with a new venture for Ramesh Narayanaswamy. A global emerging market equity strategy will be launched in 2019.

Narayanaswamy will continue to serve within the global team at Veritas and work on the Asian team alongside Ezra Sun.

Finally, Veritas has appointed Antony Burgess as a managing partner from 1 January 2019, when he will also join the managing partners’ board.
