UBS hires Coutts veteran to lead UHNW team

UBS Global Wealth Management has hired Adrian Jones as a managing director and client adviser in its ultra high net worth (UHNW) team.

Jones joins from Coutts, where he spent 30 years working with high profile and successful entrepreneurial clients across a variety of sectors, including sports & entertainment and most recently the Coutts Crown Dependencies businesses.

Jones was head of Coutts' international business in Europe and Americas before moving to UBS.

He will report to James Whittaker, head of UK UHNW, who said: ‘Adrian is a highly experienced professional with a long track record of advising clients, and we’re delighted to welcome him to our UK UHNW team.’

He added: ‘The number of UHNW clients in the UK continues to increase, driven principally by the success of UK entrepreneurs. UBS is committed to having the best quality UK advisers and ensuring that our clients benefit from the full global UBS platform.’

Recently, UBS named a new head of investment platforms and solutions (IPS) for the UK and Jersey.

Andrea Franceschetto had previously been head of IPS for emerging markets and Monaco, based in Zurich.

He will be replacing Paddy Lewis, who has held the position since 2015, but will be leaving the company at the end of this month.

Jones is also to be reunited with Amir Sadr, the heads of UBS's London-based emerging markets unit, who joined from Coutts in July.
