Tilney has bolstered its ranks with the hire of a Coutts sports specialist.

Gary Jasper joins Tilney's Chelmsford branch as financial planner after a four-year stint with Coutts, where he served most recently as a director specialists adviser, supporting sports, media and entertainment personalities.

In his new capacity Jasper will be paired with an investment manager as part of the firm's 'two expert' approach.

Prior to Coutts Jasper worked for seven years at Natwest Private Banking as a private banking manager, before moving to NatWest Private Clients as a wealth manager.

Tilney’s regional head of financial planning, Richard Dawes (pictured), said: ‘Gary is highly experienced, having spent 17 years in the sector.

'He is extremely skilled at building and enhancing relationships with high net worth individuals and I know he will be a huge asset to the business.

‘Our financial planning team across the country has continued to strengthen and grow over the past year, and it testament to the business that we are able to attract high calibre candidates to our team.’

Earlier this month Tilney brought in former British Business Bank chief operating officer Andy Grant as head of financial planning earlier this month to grow the team.

The company also hired two financial planners to its Edinburgh office in August, shortly after adding former Bank of Scotland financial planner James Diack to its Glasgow office in July.

Catherine Davies joined Tilney as head of talent in May, a new post created to help attract and develop current and future staff.
