The UK's 20 richest hedge fund managers

Last year was a tough one for hedge funds overall, but the UK's top 20 managers in the sector still managed to make a killing.

Nearly all of those who made the grade in 2019's Sunday Times Rich List saw their already massive money piles rise even further.

They are now worth a combined £18 billion, up £2 billion – or 13.6% – over the past year.

Robert Watts, the rich list's compiler, said that because hedgies 'personally invest heavily in their own funds they can feel the financial pain more if their operation struggles.

'But this has definitely been a better year for the hedgies on the Rich List - many who have enjoyed substantial winnings from a volatile stock market and turbulent geo-political climate.'

Read on to find out which names fortune has been favouring.
