SJP buys protection provider Future Proof

SJP buys protection provider Future Proof

St James’s Place has taken over protection specialists Future Proof.

Future Proof, which was launched in 2011, will provide the wealth management group with specialist protection advice.

It has arranged more than £800 million worth of client cover through different insurance companies since it started.

Future Proof founder David Mead said: 'We’re extremely proud of the team we have at Future Proof and the high-quality protection advice they provide to clients.

'To be able to now support St. James’s Place Partners and clients with important and often complex conversations about protection marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter and is another step towards closing the protection gap that exists in the UK.'

Since it began, Future Proof has given advice on income protection insurance, critical illness insurance and life insurance in personal and business markets.

Earlier this year, Iain Cornish replaced Sarah Bates as chair of St James's Place.
