Schroders reinforces multi-asset team with Barings hire

Schroders has boosted its multi asset team with the hire of sector specialist up Merrick Styles from Barings.

Style, who joined Barings in 2015, was previously a senior investment manager. He previously spent a decade at Amundi rising to become co-head of investments.

Styles will report to global head of multi-asset investments Johanna Kyrklund (pictured).

She said: 'Merrick’s arrival will further bolster the strength and depth of Schroders’ multi-asset investments team, which has a strong team-based culture and robust investment process.

'He is a multi-asset investment expert with a broad range of experience in managing portfolios to deliver consistent investment performance across all market conditions, qualities that will ultimately aim to benefit Schroders’ multi-asset clients.'

Last August, Richard Balfour left his role as a multi-sector fixed income fund manager at Barings to join HSBC Global Asset Management (HSBC GAM).
