Sarasin & Partners has appointed Stephen Rothwell as business partner in the private client team.
Rothwell will focus on growing and developing the asset manager’s private client business. The hire follows the recent promotion of five new partners in January 2019.

Prior to joining Sarasin, Rothwell was head of private merchant banking at Edmond de Rothschild, having previously spent four years as head of private wealth management at Kleinwort Benson and nine years as head of business development at Schroders Private Banking.
He started his career in 1996 at Mercury Asset Management.
Jamie Black, head of private clients at Sarasin & Partners, says: 'Stephen brings a wealth of knowledge, along with a strong record of success in the development and growth of wealth management businesses.
'Our private client operations are growing on a number of fronts and we look forward to Stephen helping us fulfil our potential.'
