Santander names multi-manager boss as UK fund CIO

Santander Asset Management has named Tom Caddick as the new chief investment officer for its UK operations

Caddick had previously served as head of global multi-asset solutions while based in the Spanish group’s London offices. He assumed that role in November 2013.

It is understood Caddick was promoted to the new post in October 2017, but the announcement of the change was only made internally.

A spokesperson for Santander AM confirmed the change to Wealth Manager sister title Citywire Selector, but said no further details were available at this time.

In his role as head of global multi-asset solutions Caddick had overseen various fund selection functions, which included oversight for the manager research, fund management and investment solution divisions.

Caddick has 17 years of investment experience and has held several portfolio manager roles at the company prior to his latest promotion. He established Santander’s multi-manager department and has aided its push into wider retail asset management.
