Sanlam bolsters London office with European Wealth hire

Sanlam UK has bolstered its London office with the appointment of Justine Colley.

Colley joins as a portfolio manager and will report to Charlie Parker, head of portfolio management.

She was previously at European Wealth where she managed the firm's South African desk for the last year. She also looked after discretionary and advisory managed clients.

Prior to that she had stints at Tilney and Mansard Capital.

Sanlam UK, which has £13 billion in assets under management, has been on a recruitment drive over the past few months.

In August it hired Penny Lovell from Close Brothers to lead the launch of its private office. The department also brought on Jonathan Moon and Will Cayzer a month later.

Last week the company also announced that it completed the acquisition of Cheltenham-based Tavistock Financial, adding 158 financial advisers and £1.5 billion in AUM.

Commenting on the appointment, Parker (pictured) said: 'We are delighted that Justine is joining the team at this exciting time for the company. Her deep understanding of the needs of high net worth individuals make her a key addition to the team and supports our commitment to first class client service.

Colley added: 'There is a real sense of progress and ambition within Sanlam and I am delighted to be part of the team.'
