Ruffer appoints three partners

Ruffer LLP has expanded its number of partners, with the addition of three new members.

The investment management firm, founded by Jonathan Ruffer (pictured), has promoted research directors Des Brennan and Ruchir Asnani to partners, alongside chief operating officer Paula Walter.

Walter joined the business in November 2016 from Newton Investment Management, where she had been chief technology officer. Prior to this, she was an executive director at Goldman Sachs.

Brennan has been part of Ruffer’s research team since October 2011 and worked at Thornhill Investment Management prior to this. Asnani joined Ruffer a year later from AKO Capital.

The appointments follow a leadership change at Ruffer, which saw the promotion of Clemmie Vaughan to chief executive in January.

Full year results from Ruffer released earlier this year showed a 5.5% increase in profit in 2016, with assets under management passing £17 billion.
