Royal London hires Standard Life Aberdeen director as chair

Royal London has appointed Standard Life Aberdeen non-executive director Kevin Parry as its new chair.

Parry will succeed Rupert Pennant-Rea in the role at the start of 2019. Pennant-Rea has chaired Royal London for five years.

Following the new appointment Parry has left the Standard Life Aberdeen board. He was appointed as a non-executive director at Standard Life in 2014, before last year.

Gerry Grimstone, chair of Standard Life Aberdeen, said: 'Kevin played a very important part in the transformation of our company and I wish him every success for the future.'

Standard Life Aberdeen indicated it does not intend to replace Parry.

After his departure the board will have four executive directors, and eight non-executive directors including the chair. Three of the members of the board are women.
