Quilter buy spree continues with double deal

Quilter buy spree continues with double deal

Quilter's national advice arm has picked up where it left off last year with a double acquisition.

The purchases, for an undisclosed sum, of Freedom Financial Planning and Stephen Spires Financial Clients come after the business struck 11 deals in 2018.

The duo will add around £130 million in assets to Quilter Private Client Advisers.

Clients of Freedom will be serviced from the company’s Chester office. Managing director Andy Nevett will retire following the transfer, while financial planning director Nick Heys will join the company as a financial planner.

Director of Stephen Spires Financial Consultants, Stephen Spires, will also retire following the transition. His clients will be looked after from Quilter’s London office.

The firm's strategy and acquisitions director, Dominic Rose (pictured), said: ‘Both these firms align well with our client service proposition and we look forward to continuing to deliver the exceptional service to which the clients are accustomed.’

Quilter Private Client Advisers' most recent spree was in November, when it swooped on three firms, acquiring Cheltenham-based Eastgate Financial Management, Surrey-based Holdaway Johnson and Blackburn-based Clive C Aitkenhead Financial Consultant.
