What is your typical client demographic?

Typical clients are close to retirement or recently post retirement. The three fund picks mentioned would be ones we would consider for them. We also work with a number of local financial intermediaries.

What differentiates your region?

Our proximity to London and the high cost of living locally means there are a wide range of different client requirements. Our older population is looking to ensure it has sufficient assets and income to last throughout their retirement, while the younger population may be working in London and accumulating wealth, worrying about how to save for their future.

What challenges are facing your local area?

People’s ability to maintain their lifestyle, irrespective of where they are in their lifecycle. Will their money last in retirement, and for those still working, with financial commitments – how can they invest adequately for their retirement? There is also a lot of concern about all the additional housing being proposed on the Green Belt.

What is the best thing about living in your region?

The rolling hills, market towns and the proximity to London for business and pleasure.

What is a typical saying in your region?
In our office we are sometimes bemused when those born and bred in Guildford refer to wood lice as ‘cheesy bobs’.

Bullish or bearish?

That would depend upon the client and their circumstances, their age and their attitude to risk. With younger clients we would potentially take a more bullish outlook, however, older clients have a more bearish perspective with regards to future market volatility and would look to ensure they can meet their ongoing income requirements.

What is your office motto?
Always on the clients’ agenda.
