Q&A with David Holmes, branch manager, Charles Stanley, Southampton:

What is your typical client demographic?

While we have a wide range of clients with different financial and investment needs, I’d say our largest group is retirees and those approaching retirement who need to plan and invest accordingly.

What differentiates your region?

We are lucky to be living and working in an area that has the beauty of the New Forest and South Downs, one of the best sailing areas of northern Europe and a thriving cruise liner port.

What challenges are facing your area?

Because the area is an attractive place to live, property demand leads to high prices. As with many areas, our ageing population also puts a strain on services such as the NHS.

What’s the best thing about living in your area?

What is your office motto?

Provide steady returns without any nasty surprises.
