Q&A with Andrew Lewis, senior investment director and head of Wales office, Brooks Macdonald, Andrew Lewis (pictured below):

What is your typical client demographic?

We work solely with the independent financial adviser community across Wales. We manage bespoke portfolios for investors with a minimum initial investment of £250,000.

What differentiates your region?

In a world moving towards technology orientated interaction, we believe face-to-face interaction is still just as important. Local advisers appreciate this, as do their clients.

What challenges does your area face?

The onset of ‘vertical interaction’, whether it be adviser firms being bought out or investment management firms offering financial advice, is threatening the availability of true independent advice.

What’s the best thing about living in your area?

With an office nestled at the foothills of Brecon Beacons, Castle Coch in view from our windows, and less than half an hour from fantastic coastline, the scenery has to be top of the list.

What is a typical saying in your region?

I came round the corner and there was my bike... gone!

What is your office motto?

Here to help.

Are you bullish or bearish?

Generally, we are cautiously optimistic on equity markets.
