Q&A with Tom Miller, head of Bristol office, Brewin Dolphin, Bristol:
What is your typical client demographic?
We do not have a typical client. As we are able to bespoke our management, and so we can cater for the intricacies that make each client an individual. We work with private individuals, trusts, charities and corporates. We also provide investment solutions for financial advisers to help with their clients.
What differentiates your location?
Bristol has strong roots in entrepreneurship, aerospace and financial services. The city has changed markedly through significant investment and improvement over the 15 years I have lived here. As well as its commercial strength, the city retains a friendly and approachable atmosphere.
What challenges are facing your area?
The short-term impact of Brexit is still unknown, which presents uncertainty, and locally we are not sheltered from this.
What’s the best thing about living in your area?
The people. I believe you will struggle to find a better and friendlier group. Couple that with the easy access to beautiful countryside and coastline and you have a great standard of living.
What’s a typical regional saying?
There are many to choose from. ‘Proper job’, meaning something done well.
What is your office motto?
Brewin Dolphin is one of the UK’s leading wealth managers. Our aim locally is to be the wealth manager of choice for those seeking personalised financial management.
