Carlos Hardenberg, former manager of Franklin Templeton's flagship Templeton Emerging Markets (TEM) investment trust, has joined Mark Mobius' new fund firm as a partner.
Mobius, the emerging markets pioneer who ran TEM from its launch in 1989 to 2015 when Hardenberg took over, has founded Mobius Capital Partners, registering the business in London in March.
Grzegorz Konieczny, another of his lieutenants who quit during a reorganisation of the Templeton Emerging Markets Group after Mobius retired from the business in January, has also joined the firm as a partner.
Konieczny previously ran Fondul Proprietatea (FP/), a Romanian investment company with a dual listing in Bucharest and London that has been returning capital to shareholders, and the Templeton Eastern Europe fund.
Banker Philip Mendrzyk is listed in company filings as a non-executive director and 50% owner the firm which will focus on environmental social and governance issues in emerging markets.
