Kames bond bosses Milburn and Roberts exit

Kames Capital has announced that fixed income heads Phil Milburn and David Roberts have left the business, with Stephen Snowden and Adrian Hull replacing them.

Citywire AA-rated Snowden has 23 years’ industry experience and is currently head of credit at Kames, responsible for a team of 10 investment professionals.

Hull, who is currently senior fixed income investment specialist has 27 years’ experience and had team leadership responsibilities during his time in investment banking.

Snowden and Hull will become co-heads of fixed income at Kames.

Roberts, head of fixed income who has decided to leave the business after 13 years and Milburn, head of fixed income investment strategy, who has also decided to leave the business.

Commenting on the changes, Kames CEO Martin Davis said: ‘I would like to congratulate Stephen and Adrian on their new roles and believe with their experience and expertise we are well placed to continue to grow our business and maintain our impressive record in managing fixed income investments for clients.

‘I would also like to thank both David Roberts and Phil Milburn for their contribution to our business, and to wish them every success in their future careers.’

Snowden will continue co-managing the Kames Absolute Return Bond fund alongside Colin Finlayson, as well as the Investment Grade Bond and Investment Grade Global Bond funds alongside Citywire AA-rated Euan McNeil.

In a series of other changes at Kames on the fixed income side, Juan Valenzuela will become co-manager of the Kames Strategic Global Bond fund for which Roberts and Milburn were co-managers.

He will continue to co-manage the Kames Strategic Bond fund.

Alex Pelteshki who joined Kames in 2014 from ING Financial Markets has been appointed co-manager of the funds. Finlayson will be support manager on both funds.

Jack Holmes, who joined Kames in 2016 from Standard Life Investments will provide additional support.

Iain Buckle will continue as co-manager of the Sterling Corporate Bond fund which Roberts was also a co-manager.

Rory Sandilands, who joined Kames in June 2016 from Goldman Sachs will join the fund as co-manager.

David Ennett and Stephen Baines will continue to run the Kames High Yield Bond fund, which had been co-managed by Milburn.

Ennett will be joined by Jack Holmes as co-manager of the High Yield Global Bond fund, which Milburn was also a co-manager of. All will be assisted by the wider Kames fixed income team.

Kames said the changes will have ‘no impact’ on the funds’ investment process, strategy or direction as it employs a ‘team based approach’ to all of its funds.
