Julius Baer extends UK campaign with eight senior hires

Julius Baer International has continued its UK push with eight new hires in London and Leeds.

Seven of the recruits will be based in London: Michelle White, Anthony Birkbeck, Renaud Billard, Sean Gallagher, Charlotte Thomas, Oksana Torbych and Aziza Ramos.

Chief executive David Durlacher (pictured) said: ‘Our recent hires showcase Julius Baer International’s commitment to hiring high-calibre individuals with extensive track records and proven credibility.

‘Our goal is to become the employer-of-choice for the most talented individuals in our industry and we remain committed to providing our clients with world-class expertise and insights that are specifically tailored to their individual needs.’

White joins from RBC Wealth Management, where she specialised in international high and ultra-high net worth clients. Before that she worked at Barclays Wealth, having started her career at Lehman Brothers's London-based private client team, looking after European family offices and the firm’s senior executives.

Birkbeck has 20 plus years of experience working with private clients and joins Julius Baer from Barclays Private Bank, where he specialised in advising high net worth families in the UK.

Joining from JP Morgan’s Global Wealth Management division is Billard who previously managed client relationships at SG Hambros.

Gallagher is an experienced wealth manager, having worked for 10 years at SG Kleinwort Hambros and Barclays Wealth.

Thomas joins from the Royal Bank of Canada, where she worked with business owners and entrepreneurs across the UK. before this, she spent two years at HSBC Private Bank with a focus on the Americas.

With over 10 years’ experience in the financial services industry, specialising in servicing high and ultra-high net worth clients Torbych will focus on tailored wealth and investment solutions, including meeting client’s liquidity needs, as well as wealth structuring and succession planning.

Ramos has spent 15 years at Barclays, Citibank and Credit Suisse, and specialises as an investment counsellor working with high net worth clients from emerging markets.

Louise Chesters will be based in Leeds, and will advise high net worth individuals and families predominantly in north Yorkshire.
