Janus Henderson has hired UBS chief investment officer Michael Ho to head multi-asset and alternative investment.
Ho will be based in London and will report to global CIO Enrique Chang. Ash Alankar, head of global asset allocation investments, David Elms, head of diversified alternatives, and Paul O’Connor, head of multi-asset UK will be reporting into Ho.
Chang (pictured) said: 'We believe Michael has the right investment and research expertise, as well as management experience, to continue building our growing multi-asset and alternatives team into a globally cohesive, client-focused investment business.'
Ho was most recently CIO of Investment Solutions at UBS Asset Management, following a 25-year career in the financial industry.
Between 2012 and 2017, he was CIO for alternatives, global macro and active emerging market equities, senior managing director and portfolio manager at State Street Global Advisers.
Before joining State Street, he worked for Mellon Capital Management during two different periods spanning a decade. He was CIO at the company and managed different investment teams.
In May, Janus Henderson announced that first quarter net outflows fell to $2.7 billion (£2 billion), $200 million less than Q4 2017.
