HSBC Global Asset Management (HSBC GAM) has hired from rivals Standard Life Aberdeen and Barings as it adds depth to its bond team.
Oliver Boulind joins from SLA, where he developed and implemented global aggregate and total return bond portfolios strategies, alongside running traditional benchmark-driven global credit strategies.
Prior to that, Boulind was at AllianceBernstein, Invesco and JPMorgan in credit analysis and portfolio management roles.
Richard Balfour (pictured) joins from Barings, where he was an investment manager in its multi-sector fixed income team, managing a range of global bond portfolios.
Before that Balfour was a portfolio manager at Credit Suisse Asset Management, initially managing money market and short duration bond funds, before taking over the firm’s UK gilt portfolios.
Both will be based in London, reporting to Ernst Osiander, HSBC GAM’s head of global bonds.
Osiander said: ‘I’m pleased to welcome both Olivier and Richard to HSBC Global Asset Management. Their hire will help us further strengthen our fixed income offering and help us continue to build our global capabilities in line with client demand for long-term investment products.’
