Hermes Investment Management has hired Nachu Chockalingam as a senior emerging market debt portfolio manager, the firm has announced.
Based in London, Chockalingam will report to Fraser Lundie, co-head of credit. She will help manage the performance and risk of existing emerging market allocations across all liquid credit strategies.
Chockalingam joins Hermes from Jupiter Asset Management, where she worked on the firm’s emerging markets strategy after joining in June 2017.
This includes the Hermes Unconstrained Credit fund, which was launched in May 2018. The fund invests across the global liquid credit spectrum, which includes emerging market debt, along with investment grade, high yield, convertibles, asset-backed securities and loans globally.
The new hire previously spent 13 years at JP Morgan in London as a sell side credit analyst covering emerging market and European corporates. She then joined Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, where she was a portfolio manager for the firm’s emerging markets assets.
