Henderson Global Investors fund manager John Bennett (pictured) has joined the Blue Knights group aiming to save Glasgow Rangers Football Club.
According reports, Bennett (pictured) manager of the £1.1 billion Henderson European Selected Opportunities, the £25 million Henderson European Focus, and the £1.9 million Henderson European Absolute Return (institutional) funds, is one of ten members of ex-Rangers director Paul Murray's rescue team.
The Daily Record reported that Murray, who has also secured the backing of investment firm Ticketus, will meet administrators Duff and Phelps today for takeover talks after the club went into adminstration last month.
The other two named members of the Blue Knights were Douglas Park, chief executive of motor group Park's of Hamilton and property guru Scott Murdoch.
Bennett, who is a fan of the Glasgow Rangers described his passion for the team as his 'greatest folly' in a Reuters article in 2010.
