Henderson Rowe co-founder and chief executive Charles Aram has left to join Research Affiliates.
Aram (pictured), who retains a significant shareholding in Henderson Rowe, will continue as a non-executive director at the company. Fellow co-founder and chief investment officer Giles Rowe has taken over as chief executive. The company has also promoted Sarah-Jane Loriot to compliance director. She joined the company in January as head of compliance.
Aram and Rowe launched Henderson Rowe in 2002 and through purely organic growth has accumulated £460 million of assets under management.
This comprises private client money and its £137.7 million FP Henderson Rowe FTSE RAFI Emerging Markets fund.
The company was an early adopter of exchange traded funds within its discretionary portfolios and launched its passive emerging market fund in 2011.
In his new role, Aram will head Research Affiliates’ Europe, Middle East and Africa business. He knows the company well following their tie-up for the fund launch.
‘I am very pleased and excited to be working with Research Affiliates, as director and heading up EMEA.
‘It feels a very natural progression, given that Henderson Rowe was an early affiliate of Research Affiliates and manages a fund against the FTSE RAFI Emerging Markets index.
‘Henderson Rowe is a strong and growing firm and I am delighted to remain as a shareholder and non-executive director,’ Aram added.
Henderson Rowe non-executive chairman Lord Parkinson added: ‘Charles and Giles have been a dynamic, entrepreneurial partnership building Henderson Rowe from scratch in 2002 and they now have a new generation of management ready to build on the investment platform they have worked so hard to put in place.
‘Charles ran client relations and Giles runs the investment and operations side. Giles Rowe will continue running the business and driving investment decisions. We wish Charles every success in his new enterprise.’
