Hawksmoor boardroom reshuffle

Senior investment director Andrew Foster has stepped down from the board of Hawksmoor and been replaced by senior fund manager Ben Conway.

Hawksmoor said Foster had taken the decision to leave the executive team to concentrate on his client book and responsibilities as head of the firm’s Taunton office.

Alongside Conway’s new role as a board director, he remains co-manager of Hawksmoor’s Vanbrugh and Distribution funds alongside Daniel Lockyer and Richard Scott.

He will also co-manage the Global Opportunities fund alongside Lockyer, following its launch this week. This strategy allocates a minimum of 60% to equities and is able to hold investment trusts. It is aimed at those with a higher risk tolerance, sitting alongside the Vanbrugh and Distribution funds, which target investors with cautious and balanced risk profiles.

Foster was appointed to the board in March last year at the same time as ex-Smith & Williamson marketing head Nick Hodgson, who only held the non-executive director position for seven months, between March and October 2017.

Last October, Daniel Lockyer also stepped down as a director, while Plymouth Argyle Football Club chair James Brent was appointed to the board in January 2018.
