Former C Hoare wealth boss joins Owl Private Office

Former C Hoare & Co head of wealth management Annamaria Koerling has joined Owl, the private office set up by Lord North Street alumni, as a partner.

Koerling oversaw the sale of C Hoare’s wealth division to Cazenove last summer and since then has been both a commissioner for the Jersey Financial Services Commission and a non-executive director of Cazenove’s parent group, Schroders.

She said joining Owl, which was established by Lord North Street founders Adam Wethered (pictured) and William Drake, alongside ex-JM Finn director Andrew Wimble in March, will enable her to return to a client-facing role.

‘Joining Owl as a partner gets me back to advising top level clients which I enjoy. And Owl is different, with its unique function at the very top of the wealth advisory ladder,’ she said.

‘This will mean helping diagnose the issues that impact families and endowments, defining or re-defining their purpose of wealth and guiding its structuring and deployment.’ 

She added: ‘What appealed to me about the Owl approach is its total impartiality in this advisory journey, helping clients construct a network of advisers and make the right decisions, usually before investment managers are selected. I believe we can provide real added value and with no strings attached.’

Wethered said: ‘Annamaria has exceptional breadth and depth of experience of the sort required to advise families and foundations at the outset of their journey into the whole area of wealth management. She will be a superb complement to our senior team of practitioners and bring to the table considerable experience of working with European families and families moving to the UK with their cross-border requirements.’
