Former A-rated GAM manager joins Credit Suisse

Former A-rated GAM manager joins Credit Suisse

Formerly Citywire A-rated manager Matthias Wildhaber has joined Credit Suisse following his departure from GAM earlier this year, Wealth Manager sister title Citywire Selector can reveal.

Wildhaber was one of the most high-profile names to exit GAM amid a mass restructuring which saw 13 fund managers leave the group. He had spent 19 years in its Zurich offices.

It is understood he has now joined Credit Suisse in a managing director and portfolio manager role. Credit Suisse declined to comment.

Wildhaber left, along with fellow former Citywire AAA-rated manager Laurence Kubli, against the backdrop of the ABS and MBS operations being merged into one entity.

As a result of the change, Citywire AAA-rated managers Tom Mansley and Gary Singleterry became responsible for the GAM Multibond - ABS fund.

Wildhaber’s new role marks the second fund manager in quick succession to resurface following the GAM restructuring. Hans-Christian Jost joined Diva Asset Management this month.
