Family office advisory firm hires head of property finance

International family office advisory business LJ Partnership has hired property derivative specialist Susan Geddes as managing director of structured finance in its real estate team.

Geddes joins from Santander’s corporate banking division, where she was MD of structured real estate finance, having previously headed the same discipline at Bank of Scotland.  

‘I am very excited to have joined LJ Partnership at a time when the real estate practice is developing so strongly,’ said Geddes. ‘It is a fantastic opportunity and one that will allow me to be more entrepreneurial in the way I work.’

Company partner and head of real estate Jonathan Elkington added that he was ‘delighted’ to welcome her to the team. ‘This appointment is an important step for the firm, and a key part of our growth strategy in real estate.’

The company currently advises around $6.5 billion (£4.5 billion) of client assets within in its real estate franchise, out of a total $14 billion in assets under influence.  

Susan is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland.
