Ex-Brewin manager opens Mayfair branch for Raymond James

Ex-Brewin manager opens Mayfair branch for Raymond James

Ex-Brewin Dolphin investment manager Luke Evans has set up a new London branch for Raymond James.

Joining the company as wealth manager and branch principal, Evans' office will be based in Mayfair.

He will provide both discretionary and advisory services to high net worth individuals, clients of intermediaries and IFAs.

Previously he worked for Brewin Dolphin, which he joined in 2011. He worked out of the firm's Reigate office and he was there when the Brighton branch was merged into it.

Following the restructure, Brewin has lost a number of people from its Reigate branch, as seven people left. Most recently office head Richard Arris also exited the firm.

Evans (pictured) will offer bespoke portfolios to clients and told Wealth Manager that while he may develop model portfolios in the future, bespoke will remain the core part of his service.

Management fees will be 0.9% per annum and theywill be tiered after the first £1 million.

He said: 'Having seen a variety of changes within the wealth management industry I felt now was a good time to strike out and establish my own office. Mayfair has a long and prestigious connection to financial services and is easily accessible from surrounding areas like from Sussex, Surrey and Kent.

'Raymond James has made it possible for me to achieve my ambitions, and I’ve been really impressed with their culture and entrepreneurial spirit, both internally and across other branches I’ve met during the process.'

Cynthia Poole, director of relationship management and business support, added: 'We are thrilled to welcome Luke to Raymond James, which signals another great step in expanding our presence within London and the South East.'

This is the third branch Raymond James has opened over the last two weeks. Most recently, ex-Rathbones director James Maltin joined the firm to set up his own boutique under the Raymond James umbrella.
