Deutsche Bank WM poaches Credit Suisse head of Europe

Deutsche Bank Wealth Management has hired a new Europe head from Credit Suisse.

Claudio de Sanctis will join the company in the newly created role of head of Europe, in December.

He was previously head of private banking, Europe, at Credit Suisse, where he spent five years. Credit Suisse will be splitting up its wealth operation in September, which will see Europe divided into two regions.

He will be based in Zurich and report into global head of wealth management Fabrizio Campelli.

Campelli commented: ‘The Europe region is the backbone of our business and I’m very excited to have someone of Claudio’s calibre joining Deutsche Bank Wealth Management at a time when we’re so focused on strategic growth. He’s another excellent addition to the team as we invest in great people and technology to serve our sophisticated clients in Europe and around the world.’

In this role De Sanctis will oversee Deutsche’s wealth arm’s Europe operations, which was newly formed and includes Germany, Switzerland, UK, Italy, Spain and France.

Prior to Credit Suisse De Sanctis spent seven years at UBS Wealth Management Europe, most recently as head of Iberia and Nordics.
