Coutts taps Deutsche Bank for digital guru

Coutts taps Deutsche Bank for digital guru

Coutts has hired Jon Brierley to the newly created role of head of digital, design and experience.

Brierley will oversee user experience (UX) design,  digital channels and client insight at the private bank, reporting to James Clarry, chief operating officer for private banking.

He joins from Deutsche Bank Asset Management, where he was head of user experience, design and innovation. Prior to that, Brierley worked for a start-up heading the user experience for its cloud platform.

‘Jon’s key priorities will be making our digital solutions match our ambition to be the best private bank in the UK, and to support the investment that we are making in the transformation of our core client journeys,’ said Clarry.

Brierley added: ‘I am delighted to be joining such a prestigious bank and wealth manager - especially at a time when they are investing so heavily in digital.’

In 2017, Coutts committed to spending at least £80 million to beef up its digital offerings over the following four years.
