Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management has promoted Simon Raggett to head of its Worcester office.

Current boss Mike Davies has decided to step down, but will stay with the firm and concentrate on the day to day management of this clients.

Raggett joined Canaccord as part of last year’s takeover of Hargreave Hale, where he had been since 2015.

He has over 25 years’ experience, starting his career at stockbroker at Harris Allday where he later became partner.

Canaccord Genuity chief executive David Esfandi said: ‘Promoting an existing colleague is testament to the quality of staff joining Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management from Hargreave Hale and ensures the continuity of service for clients and management of the local team.’

He added the Worcester office is a key part of the firm’s regional network and Raggett experience will be highly valuable going forward.

Raggett said: ‘I am really looking forward to leading the team, growing our firm’s reputation in the Midlands and welcoming new clients seeking a highly-experienced, client-focused firm with a local presence.’

This news comes on the heels of Canaccord is closing Hargreave Hale’s Carlisle branch following the retirement of the office head, Hazel Larkin.

A spokesperson told Wealth Manager that the company decided to centralise its operations in the North West, merging the Carlisle office with the Lancaster branch.
