Canaccord Genuity boosts wealth planning team

Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management's (CGWM) has bolstered its wealth planning team with the appointment of Angela Lloyd-Read, previously at Rosemount IFA.

She joins the firm as a wealth adviser. Lloyd-Read has more than 15 years' experience in wealth planning, including a CBW Financial Planning.

She specialises in pensions, tax and retirement planning for high net worth individuals.

David Esfandi (pictured), chief executive at Canaccord Genuity WM, said: 'We are delighted to welcome Angela to our growing wealth planning team.

'Wealth planning is an important component in the firm’s strategy and enables us to provide a fully integrated investment management solution across our network of offices in the UK and Crown Dependencies.'

David Goodfellow, head of UK financial planning, added: 'It is becoming increasingly important for our clients to know their finances are being managed and structured to be as tax efficient as possible and the role of wealth planning – and having the right professionals in place to service our clients has become imperative.'

Canaccord Genuity, which has £26.9 billion in assets under management, revealed in October that it was going to shut down the Carlisle branch of Hargreave Hale following the resignation of Hazel Larkin.

Last year, the firm snapped up Hargreave Hale in a deal worth £80 million, but it has since seen a number of departures across its business.
