Formerly Citywire AAA-rated bond manager Laurence Kubli has joined Muzinich & Co. to run asset-backed securities, Wealth Manager sister title Citywire Selector can reveal.

Kubli was one of the most high-profile names to leave Swiss group GAM at the end of 2018 as part of widespread restructuring. She had spent more than a decade with the asset manager.

Muzinich & Co. has hired Kubli to launch its first structured credit funds. She will be based in Zurich.

Tatjana Greil-Castro, portfolio manager at Muzinich & Co., said: ‘Structured credit requires the same diligent, bottom-up fundamental analysis that forms the foundation of our investment process.

‘Incorporating asset backed securities into our product suite is an excellent complement to our existing capabilities as we continue to seek new and innovative ways to meet clients’ investment objectives.’

Kubli left, along with fellow former Citywire AAA-rated manager Matthias Wildhaber, against the backdrop of the ABS and MBS operations being merged into one entity.

As a result of the change, Citywire AAA-rated managers Tom Mansley and Gary Singleterry became responsible for the GAM Multibond - ABS fund.

The hiring of Kubli by Muzinich follows the announcement by Citywire Selector that Wildhaber had joined Credit Suisse in a portfolio manager capacity.
