Amundi has hired Ashley Fagan to the newly created role of head of ETF, indexing and smart beta development in the UK and Ireland.
She joins from BlackRock, where she worked for 10 years, most recently as head of iShares Institutional for the same region.
A spokesperson for Amundi said the hire 'illustrates Amundi's ambitions for the UK and globally.'
In addition to assuming responsibility for the Paris-headquartered firm’s ETF business and strategy development in the UK, Fagan (pictured) has also been appointed as its global head of strategic accounts coordination.
She will report to Gaëtan Delculée, global head of ETF, indexing and smart beta sales and chief executive of Amundi’s London branch Laurent Guillet.
According to its website, the asset manager currently offers around 120 ETF products globally, holding €38 billion (£33 billion) in assets as of the end of 2017.
Before joining BlackRock in 2008, Fagan worked in the European collateralised debt obligation (CDO) division of Barclays Investment Bank.
She previously held roles at a number of Canadian banks including RBC and Bank of Nova Scotia.
In September, Amundi moved to tap into investors’ growing interest in artificial intelligence with the launch of its Amundi Stoxx Global Artificial Intelligence Ucits ETF.
