7IM says goodbye to one of its 'original seven'

One of Seven Investment Management’s original seven founders, David Carroll, is set to leave the business.

Carroll, head of strategy at the firm, helped found the business in 2002 after five years as a senior adviser at Barclays Wealth.

He also worked at Prudential and A&R Equity in a career stretching back to 1987.

Carroll held several different roles throughout his time at 7IM and was previously head of the firm’s discretionary relationship management team. He was replaced in the role by former Coutts director Stewart Sanderson in 2013 to allow him to spend more time with his own high net worth and intermediary clients.

In a statement, the firm said Carroll was leaving to pursue other opportunities.

Justin Urquhart Stewart, another co-founder and head of corporate development at 7IM, said: ‘David was one of the original seven and is someone who has always put clients first and who really cares.

‘He’s a consummate professional who has built a great private client team; a perfectionist whose team have learnt from the best. We wish him well as he leaves to pursue his other interests.

‘He’s more than earned it, and having been integral to the culture and strategy of the business, he remains very much in our DNA. We are grateful for his contribution.’
