Abby Glennie joined Standard Life Investments in February 2013 from Kames Capital. Glennie is responsible for the management of the UK Opportunities Fund, the Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Pension Fund and is joint manager of the Bothwell UK Equity Smaller Companies Fund. She joined Kames (previously Aegon Asset Management) in July 2007 as a graduate trainee investment manager, and worked in the UK equities team for five years. Her coverage over that period included a range of sectors such as technology hardware and software, food retail, small-cap healthcare, paper and packaging, and online gaming. Glennie joined the smaller companies team in January 2016. She has 10 years of experience in the industry, four of which are at Standard Life Investments. Her qualifications include an MA (Hons), CFA and IMC.


The Fund aims to provide long term growth by investing predominantly in the shares of small and medium sized companies listed on the UK stock market. The fund may also invest in larger UK companies. The fund is actively managed by our investment team, who will select stocks to try to take advantage of opportunities they have identified.
