Luke Bierman, CFA is a portfolio manager at Schroders Investment Management and is responsible for European smaller companies. He has analyst research responsibilities across the Pan-European small cap universe. He graduated from the University of Bath with a BSc (Hons) in Computer Science.

Objective

To achieve higher than average capital growth by investing in the shares of European smaller companies. Smaller companies have better growth potential than their larger counterparts, but we must be able to spot those companies which will thrive in the long term. To achieve this, the fund manager is supported by Schroders' extensive team of European analysts and is well-placed to take full advantage of the diverse range of investment opportunities across European markets. He invests in companies with excellent growth potential but which, because the company has yet to be fully understood by the rest of the market, currently trade at relatively low valuations.
