Alan Beaney

Alan Beaney has worked in the investment industry for almost 30 years. He started as a property analyst at Phillips & Drew before moving into investment management with ICI Pension. Prior to joining RCBIM he was head of investment for Principal Investment Management where he spent nine years.

Bob Brown

Born in Hastings in 1947, Bob Brown had worked as a fund manager for 20 years when he decided to use his experience to form his own investment group, R.C. Brown Investment Management PLC. Brown graduated from Durham University with a combined degree in Politics, Economics and Psychology. He started out in 1969 with Philips & Drew and was an important member of the team that successfully built up the group's investment business in the 1970s. Brown combines his role of chairman of the group with the management of the Marlborough Quantock UK Growth fund and Marlborough Ethical fund, which he manages on behalf of Marlborough Fund Managers. Brown is a stockpicker who looks to fill his portfolios with companies with good management, strong balance sheets and organic growth. He prefers to use his 33 years' of experience, rather than complex computer models, to analyse markets and companies.

Oliver Brown

Oliver Brown manages R.C. Brown’s institutional clients and also leads RCBIM’s research into UK primary market opportunities. He graduated from Birmingham University with a degree in Money, Banking and Finance. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Grant Thornton, where he worked with listed clients in a variety of sectors, specialising in the construction, leisure and IT industries. He joined RCBIM in 2006 and is a former President of Bristol Junior Chamber.

Objective

The Fund aims to provide capital growth and investment income in total that is greater than that provided by the FTSE All Share Index by investing in a concentrated portfolio of companies carefully selected from the full range listed on the London Stock Exchange, or its equivalent successor.
