Ewan Markson-Brown is an investment manager in the emerging markets equity team at Bailie Gifford. Prior to joining Baillie Gifford in 2013, he was a senior vice president in Emerging Markets at PIMCO. Ewan also previously worked at Newton for five years most recently as lead portfolio manager on an Asia Pacific equity strategy, as well as segregated Asian income and Japanese equity strategies. He also worked for Merrill Lynch Investment Managers as a portfolio manager in the Asia-Pacific region for six years. Ewan graduated MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University in 2000.

Roderick Snell

Roderick Snell is currently an investment manager at Baillie Gifford with a focus on Emerging Markets Equity. After graduating with a BSc Honours degree in Medical Biology from Edinburgh University in 2006, Snell joined Baillie Gifford and worked in the UK and European equity teams prior to moving to the emerging markets equity team. Snell holds the IMC and has passed the CFA level 1 exam. During his spare time, he enjoys soccer, real ale and going to the cinema.

Objective

To produce attractive capital growth over the long term by investment in the Far East, Australasia and the Indian sub-continent in any economic sector. The current policy excludes investment in Japan, New Zealand and Australia. The Funds share price can be volatile due to movements in the prices of the underlying holdings and the basis on which the Fund is priced. The Fund is positioned as a long-term Asian growth fund.
