Old Mill sets standard with business award

South West advice firm Old Mill underwent a three-day assessment to secure a prestigious business accolade for the third year in a row.

Old Mill has been awarded the British Standard 8577 best practice professional benchmark. The firm was examined by awarding body Standards International to make sure they were compliant in all the areas they had been assessed on in previous years.

Standards International looked at the firm’s compliance processes, literature and documentation and the way advice is given.

The firm also renewed its ISO 22222 for a third year. ISO 22222 is an accreditation that marks a high level of advice. Both are accreditations only a handful of firms in the UK share. Only 25 other UK firms hold the BS8577.

Matthew Clark (pictured), Old Mill operations manager, said the business uses the award as proof to clients of its quality.

‘When we first got the accreditation we had to undergo a deep, thorough review of our processes across the business,’ he said.

‘[Achieving the accreditation] is a validation of what we do. Old Mill is market leading and this makes sure we are at the top of our game and have achieved the highest level of award that is available,’ said Clark.

‘It is a good way to make sure we are consistent about how we deliver value to our clients.’

Old Mill’s four offices are in Wells, Yeovil, Exeter and Melksham. The business has £500 million in assets under advice and 15 advisers.
