Nutmeg: financial planning will be digitised in 10 years

Regulated financial advice will be completely digitised within a decade. That is according to Nutmeg chief investment officer Shaun Port, who joined New Model Adviser® online producer Ollie Smith and regulatory reporter Elliot Smith to talk robo-investing.

Nutmeg: financial planning will be digitised in 10 years

You are stood in your kitchen making dinner.

All of a sudden your fridge bursts into life. It knows you are home, and that you want a quarterly investment report from your robo-investor.

As you stand there chopping carrots, it runs you through your portfolio performance and advises you on asset allocation. It also updates you on your financial plan and makes recommendations about your spending behaviour, how to achieve your goals and - importantly - whether you are going to be able to afford that Lamborghini in retirement.

Sound ridiculous? Nutmeg chief investment officer Shaun Port does not think so. According to him, that could be less than a decade away.

In this podcast, he explains to Ollie Smith and Elliot Smith (who are not related) that face-to-face advice won't disappear, but that technology will completely revolutionise how people receive financial advice.

You can listen to all that and more in the podcast above. But do not forget to subscribe on iTunes, and if you are feeling kind leave us a review.
