NextGen Planners co-founder Adam Carolan has been appointed managing director of Cheshire-based Xentum.
Carolan (pictured) joined the firm as a graduate trainee a decade ago, and set up NextGen Planners alongside Postcard Planning director Rohan Sivajoti early last year.
Carolan said: ‘I am extremely excited about the future of Xentum. We have great people, a really strong management structure and we have a plan to be one of the leading financial planning firms in the UK in the next 10 years.
‘We are looking to grow and acquire talent and we have great systems and processes in place to allow us.’
Xentum founder Dominic Baldwin will now serve as chief executive, focusing on expanding the company in line with the board’s vision.
He said: ‘We have just joined Best Practice network and we have been really impressed in how they can help us scale our business. It is the right time for Adam with the support of a strong structure to lead the company towards our vision.
‘He has been with us along the journey and helped to build our company culture and values.’
Carolan established NextGen Planners in a bid to improve conduct within the profession after his late father lost £195,000 from a bad DB transfer.
He was one of 12 advisers selected for the Personal Finance Society’s financial planning practitioner panel in September last year.
