Hertfordshire-based Hanbury Wealth Management has appointed Martyn Allum as its new managing director.

Allum has worked in financial services for 39 years, previously holding roles at Tees Law and Tees Financial as executive director of the financial services division and managing director, respectively.

Allum succeeds Chris Emery (pictured), founding director of the firm. With more than 20 years of experience in financial advice, Emery will focus solely on Hanbury’s ‘strategic direction, our joint venture partners and of course, my existing clients’.

In the new role, Allum will work alongside Emery and director Mandy Dale.

On his appointment, Allum said: ‘I am delighted to be part of such a forward-thinking dynamic company and look forward to working with everyone here to achieve our exciting plans for the future.

‘My immediate focus will be meeting all the staff, obtaining their individual views on the business, sharing my thoughts and vision, and establishing how this will be achieved by working as a team.’

Emery added: ‘We’re delighted to welcome Martyn. His appointment significantly strengthens the team and puts the foundations in place for Hanbury’s next very exciting phase of growth. We have no doubt Martyn’s extensive experience and expertise will enable us to execute our carefully crafted plans.’
