Former Sesame director makes Fairey tale return

Chelmsford-based IFA Fairey Associates has hired former Sesame commercial director Andrew Bedford to spearhead business development.

Bedford has been running his own financial services consultancy, 3D Communications, since 2003 and has been working with Swedish wealth management firm Nordea Asset Management for the past four years.

The former Sesame director has been set a number of objectives for Fairey, such as increasing assets under advice, increasing referrals and using technology to improve its service.

The firm has 20 advisers of 38 total staff and assets of £300 million, up sharply from £200 million last year. Managing director Ed Fairey said Bedford would help deliver new ‘top line’ growth to the business.

‘We are producing profitable year-on-year growth, with adviser numbers and assets under advice all increasing significantly,’ he said.

Bedford said: ‘I am excited to be back working in advice. Fairey Associates is built on strong foundations, and Ed convinced me that it was a professional business, with strong ethics, ready to grow substantially over the next two to five years.’
