Fidelity International’s Rossi to step down as investment chief

Fidelity International’s Dominic Rossi is to wind down his role as chief investment officer for global equities over the coming year.

Rossi (pictued), who has headed the firm’s equity investment strategy for seven years, will from January 2018 move to a part-time role as a special adviser on public policy initiatives within the business.

‘After 30 years as an investor, including a decade as chief investment office, I have made a personal decision to make a change from a lifestyle perspective,’ said Rossi.

‘I am passionate about public policy and ensuring that policy making and regulation makes sense for our clients and does not have unintended consequences.’

During his stint as chief investment office, Rossi directed the expansion of the firm’s equities team, including the hires of AA-rated Jeremy Podger, Dan Roberts and AA-rated Leigh Himsworth.

Brian Conroy, president of Fidelity International, said: ‘I would like to acknowledge the huge debt of gratitude that the company owes Dominic for his stewardship of the equity investment team over the last seven years and his contribution to the overall leadership and direction of the company.

‘I’m delighted that we will continue to benefit from his experience in public policy as well as his many years’ as an investor and as a corporate governance advocate.’
