Citywire 10k 2018: pics from our biggest ever charity run

A record 272 people took part in our annual charity race in Regent's Park, helping raise £20,000 for Shelter and St Barnabas House hospice.

Ten Kilometres. Sounds like a mighty challenge. Only the brave dared enter the Citywire annual 10k run for charity in Regents Park last Tuesday 10th July.

Now in its 8th year, the race proved more popular than ever, with 272 runners from over 40 firms in the wealth management community ditching their suits, donning their trainers and sports kit and running/walking/crawling to the finish line.

As is evident from this collection of photos from the day, spirits were high, sweat was dripping and smiles were all around. It was a glorious occasion made even better by the strategic cloud cover in the heatwave we have been experiencing.

Among these runners there were the super speedy, the Mo Farahs of the group, those who were blurs to us mere marshals as we cheered everyone on.

Finishing in the top three with times all under 38 minutes and only 1 minute and 23 seconds between them respectively was Ashmore group’s Stewart Mcandie, Rathbones’ Bryn Jones and Quilter Chevoit’s Nick Wood.

The top three women were Quilter Cheviot’s Lauren Craig who steamed ahead with a time under 42 minutes, Cohen & Steers’ Frankie Upton and Jupiter’s Jayne Stacey.

A very impressive showing indeed by our winners.

This year Citywire chose ‘Shelter’ the charity that campaigns to end homelessness and ‘St Barnabas Hospice’ as two great causes to donate to.

Collectively we have raised almost £20,000 for these great causes, with more donations still coming in.

A massive congratulations to everyone who took part in this event.
