Brewin Dolphin hires from Succession as advice expansion continues

Brewin Dolphin has stepped up investment into its advice business, making a raft of hires to bolster its financial planning presence across the country.

In total, the company has made six appointments. Ross Belford and Graeme Muir have joined the company as a financial adviser and paraplanner, respectively, in Edinburgh. Belford previously worked as an adviser at Succession Group.

Muir joins Brewin from Edinburgh Wealth Management, where he was a client manager. Before that he worked as a paraplanner at Tcam Asset Management.

Mark Croft and Nitu Katoch have joined the firm’s London office as portfolio manager and financial adviser, respectively. Croft was previously on the investment team at Whitefoord, while Katoch worked as an adviser at Wealth at Work covering pensions and investments. Richard Bell, who previously worked at Pearson Jones and HSBC, has also joined Brewin Dolphin as a financial planner in Penrith.

In Belfast, the company has also recruited Morgan McSorley as a financial planner. He joins from Davy and previously had stints at Danske Bank and Hughes Financial Services.

A recent report found that Brewin Dolphin had a 4% share of the advice market, behind St James’s Place, which has a 12% share.
