Better business: How to strike a work life balance

In the next episode of Ian Horne's look at best practice, he chats to Michelle Hoskin and Ian Painter about improving work life balance in the financial planning profession.

At this year's New Model Adviser® Roadshows, Michelle Hoskin joined our panel session to highlight the key business issues facing IFAs in 2018 and beyond. Hoskin, director at Standards International, has worked with IFAs across the U.K, and has helped many to maximise the potential of their businesses.

In this follow-up, she joins us in the Citywire studio for a series of discussions focusing on the real pain points.

For this episode, we are also joined by Ian Painter, managing director of Affinity Integrated Wealth Management, to talk about the work/life balance. This balance is problematic for many IFA business owners, and needs to be tackled if IFAs are to grow their businesses in a sustainable and manageable way.

For a little context, Hoskin mentioned during one panel session that her work, in helping advisers take a step back, may well have saved a few marriages. So this is sound advice!
