Doncaster-based Dobson & Hodge was founded almost 100 years ago as an insurance firm, by army officers who served in the First World War.
And director Paul Stocks (pictured) has been thinking very much inside the box to mark next year’s centenary with 100 charitable acts.
The firm has just taken part in its second event: box packing. During a day-long event at a local community centre, 5,000 meal portions of soya, rice and vitamin supplements were packed into boxes for families in Burkina Faso. The charity event was held by Feed the Hungry and Doncaster charity Manna, which is also a client of the advice firm.
Stocks said the firm is now on the lookout for more charities to help as part of the centenary challenge.
‘We are putting feelers out in and around Doncaster for people who want help. Part of the battle is trying to find charities in the area that are looking for help,’ he said.
